Johnsonville Grillers recalled after consumers find pieces of black rubber

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. (WBAY) - Johnsonville in Sheboygan Falls is recalling 48,371 pounds of Johnsonville Grillers frozen pork patties that may be contaminated.

Three customers contacted the company after discovering black rubber in "Johnsonville Grillers Cheddar Cheese and Bacon Flavor" patties.

The Grillers were produced and packaged on September 27, October 17 and October 18, 2018.

The 24-ounce (1.5 pound) packages are labeled with a "Best Flavor By" date of July 24, August 13, or August 14, 2019.

There is also an establishment number of 34225 printed on the carton under the Best Flavor By date.

Anyone who has this product in their freezers should throw it out or return it to the store where it was purchased.

The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service doesn't have any reports of consumers having adverse reactions if they ate a contaminated patty.
