How to donate to Hurricane Harvey victims

HOUSTON (WBAY) - Thousands of people have been rescued from unprecedented flooding in the Houston area as result of Hurricane Harvey.

Rainfall totals are expected to top 50 inches in some areas.

Fundraisers have been set up for the victims. The Better Business Bureau urges donors to make sure they're giving to reputable charity organizations.

Saving Paws Animal Rescue

Saving Paws Animal Rescue is collecting pet food, water, and supplies for Houston. The rescue will rent a cargo van to deliver the donations.

Donations are accepted at N3141 Meade St in Appleton. Monetary donations are also accepted to cover the cost of gas and the van rental.

The grocery store chain is accepting donations at cash registers and customer service desks. The donation benefits the American Red Cross.
