Hilbert man pleads no contest to child abuse

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - A young Hilbert man faces prison after pleading no contest to a charge of child abuse involving his then-three-month-old daughter.

A criminal complaint says last June Quinn Frederickson, then 19, got frustrated that his daughter wouldn't take her bottle, so he threw a full bottle of formula at her head, and when she wouldn't stop crying he threw her in a bassinet and hit her with the back of his hand.

Fox Crossing Police were called to St. Elizabeth's emergency room on June 8, where nurses told officers the baby had a skull fracture and bleeding near the brain. The baby was eventually treated at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.

Frederickson entered the no contest plea Thursday, avoiding a trial. He'll be sentenced in Winnebago County court on March 1.
