Heroin, crack recovered during recent drug busts in Crandon
Detectives in northern Wisconsin seized heroin and crack cocaine after two recent traffic stops in Crandon.
On Jan. 8, the Forest County Drug Task Force stopped a vehicle for a violation. Police identified three Milwaukee residents inside the car.
Investigators learned passenger Keotis Hamilton, 32, had an active warrant for his arrest. During the arrest, he swallowed a pill believed to be Oxycodone, according to officers. He was taken into custody for Obstructing an Officer and Bail Jumping.
During a search of the car, detectives located cocaine, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia.
Police also arrested driver Martell Green, 24, and passenger Devon Bell, 28.
The suspects were taken to the Forest County Jail and searched. "More evidence was located hidden in their person," the Forest County Sheriff's Office says.
Detectives recovered 10.6 grams of heroin and 40.7 grams of crack cocaine. The street value is about $13,500.
Hamilton, Green and Bell are facing charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
This is the second large drug bust in Forest County in less than a week. On Jan. 5, the drug task force stopped a vehicle in Crandon for a violation. A K9 alerted officers to something in the vehicle. The search turned up 11 bags of heroin, 12 bags of crack cocaine, digital scales, packaging material and drug paraphernalia.
Police arrested Rhonda Rachal, 24, Crandon; Jay White, 26, Crandon; and Cayenne Ross, 22, Watersmeet, Mich.
Detectives executed a search warrant at Rhonda Rachal's home and found scales, packaging, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
During the search, officers arrested Brandon Phalen, 20, Crandon; and Keshia Morris, 26, Crandon.
