Green Bay schools adjust times for prom

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - UPDATE: 4/13:

Some Green Bay proms will end earlier than scheduled due to the winter storm.

Proms at East, Southwest and Preble will be held Saturday, but the times have been adjusted to 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

East's prom was originally scheduled for 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Preble's prom has scheduled for 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

All other after-prom events are canceled.

The district says it will monitor the forecast Friday night and Saturday. If weather gets worse, the district may postpone prom until another date.

Parents who do not want their child to go out in the weather will be reimbursed for the cost of the ticket.

The West High School musical will go on as scheduled.

Green Bay schools are addressing a rumor going around social media that proms scheduled for this weekend have been postponed.

The district says a fake Twitter post claims proms at Southwest, Preble and East will be postponed due to the weather.

The district says this is not true. They are monitoring the weather forecast and will notify families should they need to postpone prom or any other scheduled events.
