Sheriff's Office identifies man who died in Oconto County lake

OCONTO, Wis. (WBAY) – The Oconto County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a Green Bay man who died after falling off a raft on Anderson Lake.

The victim was identified as Nathaniel J. Prenot by the Brown County Medical Examiner's Office.

On July 6, at about 6:30 p.m., the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office responded to the lake in the Town of Breed. Witnesses said a man fell off a raft and didn't resurface.

Several agencies and divers searched the area. At about 8:17 p.m., they recovered the body of Nathaniel Prenot.

The sheriff’s office thanked everyone who helped in the search and sent thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.

The incident is under investigation.
