Sheriff's Office identifies victims of fatal Door County crash

DOOR COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - UPDATE 5/14:

The Door County Sheriff's Office has identified the victims of a fatal crash that happened in the Town of Nasewaupee.

The Sheriff's Office says 16-year-old Gabriela Frances Jacques of Green Bay and 52-year-old Joseph P. Jacques of Green Bay were killed in the May 12 crash.

Passenger Marisa Toussaint Jacques, 20, Austin, Texas was injured.

"The Door County Sheriff’s Office offers our condolences to the family and friends of the Jacques during this difficult time," reads a statement on the department's Facebook page.

The crash happened at the intersection of County Highway PD and County Highway C.

The Sheriff's Office says Gabriela Jacques was driving a car that was traveling north on County Highway PD. The car was hit by a pickup truck traveling east on County Highway C.

Passenger Joseph P. Jacques died at the scene.

Gabriela Jacques was airlifted to an area hospital. The Sheriff's Office says they were notified by the Brown County Medical Examiner's Office Monday that the girl had died from her injuries.

Marisa Toussaint Jacques was airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver the pickup truck was identified as 60-year-old Jeffrey Olcott of Wausau. He was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.

INITIAL REPORT:

A man and a teen girl were killed in a crash in Door County this weekend.

The Door County Sheriff's Office said the victims were a 52-year-old Green Bay man and a 16-year-old Green Bay girl. Their names were not released.

The crash happened May 12 at the intersection of County Highway PD and County Highway C in the township of Nasewaupee.

The Sheriff's Office says a car was traveling north on County Highway PD. The car was hit by a pickup truck traveling east on County Highway C.

A 52-year-old Green Bay man who was a passenger in the car died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 16-year-old Green Bay girl, was airlifted to an area hospital. The Sheriff's Office says they were notified by the Brown County Medical Examiner's Office Monday that the girl had died from her injuries.

A 20-year-old Austin, Texas woman was also airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver the pickup truck was not hurt.

The intersection was closed for several hours for investigation and crash scene reconstruction.

Names are being withheld pending notification of family.

Crews were called to the scene at 6:39 p.m.
