Booyah!

Green Bay's Northwoods League baseball team which packed its bags and is moving to a new stadium in Ashwaubenon announced its new name Wednesday night: The Green Bay Booyah.

The team asked the community to come up with names for the team and vote on seven finalists -- a list that also included Cheese Curds, Old Fashioneds, Supper Clubbers, Tail Gaters, Under Dogs, and Wurst (as in "bratwurst").

The team's new icon is a fierce-looking rooster (since chicken is a key ingredient in the popular Wisconsin-style stew).

The Green Bay Booyah moves into Capital Credit Union Park in 2019.

For the announcement, the team unveiled what it bills as the World's Largest Booyah Kettle -- a 2,000-gallon kettle which will be installed in the stadium before its opening in May.

Team merchandise will be sold at the team's offices at 2325 Holmgren Way starting Thursday, Nov. 15. The team shop is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
