Grand Chute Police say man made up stabbing story

GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WBAY) - Grand Chute Police say a man fabricated a story about a stabbing on a park trail Wednesday night.

At 10:55 p.m., officers were called to Town Center Park, 1850 W. Grand Chute Blvd. A 27-year-old man was walking on the park trail when he suffered an injury.

The man told police he was unsure of what happened, but he believed he had been stabbed.

The man was taken to a local hospital and treated for a non-life threatening injury.

"Upon investigation, it was learned that the injuries to the victim were self-inflicted and the information that was initially provided to responding officers was fabricated," Grand Chute Police Say.
