Dozens of female students gathered in the Fox Valley Friday for the annual Build Like a Girl event.
The event, hosted by Miron Construction, is aimed at getting girls interested in construction jobs.
The girls met up at Miron's headquarters in Neenah and moved to a job site tour in Menasha. The company is constructing a new Community First Credit Union branch at 670 Lake Park Road.
Carpenter Becky White will be working with the girls. They'll be framing walls, pouring concrete and operating boom lifts.
Construction companies are working to fill a skills gap and address the lack of women in the industry.
"Right now there's a very low number of females in the construction field, and it would be great to see more out working out in the field," White tells us.
