Packers defeat Titans 31-17 in preseason opener

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay Packers scored a win against the Tennessee Titans in the first preseason game of 2018.

The final score was 31-17 under the lights at Lambeau Field.

The headlines of the night: a three-way backup quarterback battle emerges and rookie WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling shines.

Next week the Packers host the Steelers at Lambeau Field in another 7 p.m. kickoff.

Tim Boyle tosses a perfect pass that's dropped by J'Mon Moore.

The drive ends with a 41-yard field goal from Mason Crosby. 17-10 Packers.

Boyle leads the Packers on an 85-yard drive culminating in a 15-yard TD pass to Marquez Valdes-Scantling. 24-10 Packers.

Rookie WR Valdes-Scantling impresses with five catches for 101 yards.

Boyle tosses a 52-yard TD pass to Jake Kumerow. 31-10 Packers.

Tennessee scores a late touchdown to make the score 31-17.

DeShone Kizer makes a 51-yard connection to Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Joel Bouagnon runs it in for a touchdown and a Lambeau Leap. 14-10 Packers.

S Josh Jones is being evaluated for a concussion, Packers say.

DeShone Kizer wraps up by going 10-for-19 for 134 yards. Rookie Tim Boyle takes over as Packers QB.


Packers defense prevents Titans from scoring touchdown from the red zone. Packers' Reggie Gilbert impressive on D. Titans kick field goal to go up 10-7.

Hundley is hit and the pass is intercepted.

Hundley goes 9-for-14 for 108 yards. One TD. One INT. DeShone Kizer takes over at QB.

Kizer uses his legs to keep the drive alive. There are several missed connections in the end zone.

New DC Mike Pettine's defense gives up TD on first drive. 7-0 Titans.

Brett Hundley is in as quarterback for the Packers. He makes a 48-yard completion to Davante Adams.

Hundley completes a pass to Jamaal Williams for a touchdown. 7-7.

Rough start for Quinten Rollins. He nearly gives up the ball on a punt catch; had to chase it down.

JK Scott's punt gets good hang time, but goes short for a mere 31 yards.

Quarter finishes 7-7.
