FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WBAY) - A shooting last night in Fond du Lac, critically injures two people who remain hospitalized. And the incident has neighbors on edge. The shooting happened at the Forest Plaza Apartment building which sits at the intersection of Forest and Military Avenues.

At about 10:30pm Wednesday night, Fond du Lac Police were called to the Forest Plaza Apartments where a 26-year old man and a 17-year old female had been shot.

According to Assistant Chief Steve Klein, "There was a group of individuals that were entering the rear entrance of the Forest Plaza Apartments when the shots rang out. At this point, we do not have any suspect information and we have nobody in custody at this point."

Police believe this was a targeted attack, and not a random act of violence, and they're trying to find a motive. With several witnesses and a few surveillance cameras in the parking lot and on the apartment building, authorities are hoping to identify the suspect soon.

"We are reviewing all surveillance footage that we can get from the apartment complex and surrounding area. The investigation is very active at this point," added Klein.

Neighbors say us they're concerned, even though they didn't know the victims.

Barbara Bird adds, "They pretty much stay over there and I stay over here - but yeah, it makes me quite nervous."

While investigators continue to work this case, Fond du Lac Police are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
