Investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that destroyed an auto body shop in Calumet County.
The fire broke out at 3:30 a.m. at Legacy Automotive. The shop was located on Highway 10 in Forest Junction.
Crews arrived on scene to find flames shooting out of the building on all sides.
Firefighters from six neighboring departments helped fight the fire.
It took crews about an hour to get the fire under control.
Two cars that belonged to customers were inside the building. Those vehicles were destroyed.
"We were able to salvage some of the equipment, but the building itself is a total loss. We had to bring in an excavator to open the building up because it was unsafe for the men to go inside," said Chief Carl Weber, Forest Junction Fire Department.
No one was hurt.
The Forest Junction Fire Department is working with the Calumet County Fire Investigation Unit to figure out the cause of the fire.
