A treasurer with Shawano's FFA alumni organization is charged with stealing $30,000 from the group.

Prosecutors allege Elizabeth Pahlow of Clintonville took money from the group between February 2017 and February this year for personal use.

When Pahlow became responsible for the funds, there was more than $30,737 in the account. By this past February it was down to $141.

FFA officials contacted Shawano police earlier this year after looking at the treasurer's report.

According to the criminal complaint, Pahlow confessed to taking the money but said she intended to pay it back.

She's charged with theft in a business setting over $10,000. If convicted, the charge carries a maximum 10 years in prison and $25,000 fine.

Pahlow is scheduled to be back in court May 22.
