DE PERE, Wis. (WBAY) - People in the De Pere community now have an idea of what two new pools might end up looking like once they're finished.
The city's Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department held an open house Monday night so people could see design proposals and give their feedback.
From here, the Board of Park Commissioners will be reviewing options at their meeting on Thursday.
The designs displayed Monday include diving boards and lap pools, leisure pools and pools with zero-depth entry for toddlers, and options like water slides.
As Action 2 News has been reporting, both the VFW and Legion swimming pools will be rebuilt using money approved by voters in a referendum in November. That may add up to $900,000 per year to the tax levy.
The VFW pool will not open this year because of structural damage. Plans to increase swim lessons at Legion Pool are being worked on as a result.
