UPDATE: Authorities identify victim of fatal crash on I-41

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WBAY) - Authorities have identified the man who died in one of two crashes on I-41 on Tuesday.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, 80-year-old Jerry Demlow of Antigo died on Tuesday.

Authorities say the fatal crash happened on I-41 Northbound, north of CTH B in Fond du Lac.

A straight truck was slowing in traffic due to the traffic back up.

Police say Demlow did not stop in time and collided with the straight truck. He died as a result of the crash.

Two passengers in the straight truck were injured, but refused medical attention.

The crash happened at 2:07 p.m. and was cleared at 4:01 p.m., according to the State Patrol.

The first crash happened on I-41, just south of Highway 151, shortly before 1 p.m. A semi and an SUV collided.

Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue says all people involved in the crash refused medical attention.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources was called to clean up diesel fuel that leaked from the semi.

Crash scene crews spent several hours on I-41 in the Fond du Lac area Tuesday dealing with the two crashes.
