Oconto Falls man killed in head-on crash; two in custody

OCONTO COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY)- UPDATE 9/13:

The Oconto County Sheriff's Office has identified a 22-year-old man who was killed in a head-on crash.

Investigators say Cory Folts of Oconto Falls was killed when a pickup truck crashed into his vehicle on Highway 41 at County Highway D in the township of Abrams.

The crash happened Sept. 11 at about 8:40 p.m.

Investigators say the pickup, driven by 26-year-old Kelly Crispin of Minnesota, left the road, traveled through the median and hit Folts's vehicle head on.

Crispin and her passenger, 31-year-old Eric Solomon of Wyoming, were treated at a hospital and released.

They were taken into custody and face possible charges, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Solomon is also being held on out-of-state warrants.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Oconto County Sheriff's office says a crash on Highway 41 left a man dead Tuesday night.

The crash happened around 8:40 p.m. near Geano Beach Road, about two miles south of Abrams.

A news release from the sheriff"s office says a pickup heading south on Hwy. 41 crossed the median and hit a northbound vehicle head-on, killing the 22-year-old Oconto Falls man who was driving north.

The pickup's driver was a 26-year-old Minnesota woman. She was injured and taken to a hospital. A 31-year-old Texas man who was her passenger was also hurt and hospitalized.

The State Patrol tells Action 2 News it reconstructed the crash overnight, to try to figure out why the pickup crossed the median.

The reconstruction had Hwy. 41's northbound lanes closed for over five hours. The highway was fully back open by 2:00 Wednesday morning.
