A federal grand jury has indicted a Wisconsin man who attempted to travel to a Neenah home to have sex with an underage girl for the purpose of making child porn, according to the United States Attorney's Office in Green Bay.

Adam J. Westphal, 41, is facing charges of Attempted Production of Child Pornography; Distribution of Child Pornography; and Attempted Enticement of a Minor to Engage in Sexual Activity.

Court records show Westphal, a resident of Cudahy, sent sexually-explicit videos and photos of pre-pubescent children to an online chat room named "taboo."

Westphal is also accused of making arrangements to travel to a home in Neenah to have sex with a 14-year-old girl. The indictment states he wanted to make videos he could share online.

Westphal thought he was chatting online with the girl's mother. However, it was an undercover investigator with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The case was investigated by the ICAC Task Force and the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office.

It will be prosecuted in federal court.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood to combat child sex exploitation and abuse.
