CHILTON, Wis. (WBAY) - Do not flush wet wipes down the toilet. That's the plea from Chilton Public Works.

The department says wipes "have caused an alarming number of sewer blockages and pump failures."

Public Works says the wipes don't break down in the sewer system, and the result costs taxpayers thousands of dollars.

Chilton officials say only toilet paper should be flushed.

They also advise against pouring grease down the drain.

If you have questions about what and what not to flush, call the Wastewater Department at (920) 464-0505.
