Cellcom Green Bay Marathon weekend kicks off with expo, packet pick-up

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Runners, spectators and curious citizens are taking in the sights and sounds of Cellcom Green Bay Marathon weekend.

The events kickoff Friday at Lambeau Field. The Prevea Health & Fitness Expo is 3-7 p.m. There will be vendors, apparel, a photo booth and sign making.

Packet pick-up and registration is also available at Lambeau Field.

The expo and packet pick-up continue at Lambeau Field Saturday.

That's also the day for the Cellcom 5K and WPS Kids' Power Run take place.

Sunday is the marathon, marathon relay, half marathon and half marathon relay.

The course has shifted to downtown Green Bay.

The marathon starts at the KI Convention Center on Main Street. It finishes at Leicht Park on the west side of the Fox River.

"So there's ample parking at WPS [Wisconsin Public Service building], Pine Street Ramp, Cherry Street Ramp. All sorts of parking available," says Toni Jaeckels, race director, Cellcom Green Bay Marathon. "I would recommend fill WPS and they can start going to the ramp."

The full marathon starts at 7 a.m. The half marathon starts at 7:30 a.m. Runners need to be in place a half hour before start time.

StormCenter 2 says it's going to be soggy weekend. Showers are likely Friday through Sunday. Periods of rain will bring 1-2" of precipitation by late Sunday.
