GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Bitter cold wind chills won't stop runners from getting pumped up about a major marathon in the Green Bay area.
The kick-off party for the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon is Jan. 9 at Titletown Tap Room, 320 N. Broadway. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
The event is a kick-off to marathon training season. It will feature food, drinks and motivational speeches from runners.
New runners and first-time marathoners are encouraged to attend.
"The great thing about our event is we're very new runner friendly. Even walker friendly," says Toni Jaeckels, Race Director. "So if somebody is sitting at home thinking, 'Gosh, I really need to get motivated! It's the new year, I've set these goals for myself.' This is a great time."

Races include a full marathon, a relay marathon, a half marathon, a half relay, a 5K and a kid's run.
The Cellcom Green Bay Marathon changed course for 2019, moving the start and finish lines from Lambeau Field back to downtown Green Bay. Runners will still circle the iconic stadium during the race.
