BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - A De Pere company has recalled yellow cheese curds that may not be adequately pasteurized.
Scray's Cheese Company voluntarily recalled the lot of curds that were sold in convenience stores in Northeast Wisconsin.
The issue: unpasteurized milk can be contaminated by bacteria like E. coli, Salmonella, and Listeria. Those bacteria could lead to illness.
There have been NO REPORTS OF ILLNESS from people who have eaten these cheese curds.
No other Scray's products are being recalled.
Wisconsin's Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection says consumers should return them to the store for a refund or toss them out. If you have questions, call Scray's Cheese Company at (920) 347-0303.
