BELLEVUE, Wis. (WBAY) - Brown County authorities announced another successful drug take-back event. They collected 1,885 pounds of unused prescription drugs over the weekend.
The fall collection total is less than the 2,151 pounds of pills collected during the spring take-back event.
Both events bring the total collection for the year to a little more than 4,000 of unused medication in Brown County, keeping drugs from getting into the wrong hands or being flushed into our waterways.
Pill collections by location, in pounds:
Brown County Sheriff's Office/Drug Task Force: 598.1
Brown County employees: 24.4
De Pere: 244
The Brown County Sheriff's Office says events in Kewaunee and Door counties collected an additional 341.8 pounds.
