The Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Green Bay Area says its Youth Arts Initiative is inspiring kids to come out of their shell.

The Youth Arts Initiative includes graphic arts, performing arts, dance, and digital visual arts.

Professionals in each art form work with the kids. The kids learn real world skills.

The Boys and Girls Club says they've seen the difference it makes in kids.

"We've seen kids that were withdrawn, socially challenged if you will, some that had difficulty with engagement and were sporadic in their club attendance, etc. And many, if not most of them, now are more frequent attenders of club, and they have better experiences in their own testimonials," says John Benberg, Executive Director, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Green Bay.

The Boys and Girls Club has been studying the impact of the arts on local kids over the last five years. They'll present the results during an open house Wednesday.
