Boston Store and Younkers are open for shoppers, but only online shoppers.
Bon-Ton Holdings launched new, identical websites for the department stores, offering clothes, jewelry and kitchen appliances and also big ticket items like refrigerators, televisions and furniture.
The revived company is also introducing a lease-to-own program to buy more expensive products like electronics and furniture with a down payment and monthly payments. The websites say you'll own the products outright "in 12 months or less."
In a message to customers, Jordan Voloshin of Indiana-based technology firm CSC Generation identifies himself as "the new President of The Bon-Ton" and says CSC Generation was inspired by revive the department stores after seeing the loyalty of customers and employees.
Bon-Ton closed its department stores over the past year after declaring bankruptcy.
The websites have a store locator but that web page says "We are re-building the business brick by brick. In the meantime, we hope that you are enjoying shopping online and sincerely hope to see you soon."
CSC Generation told Action 2 News it's interested in reopening Younkers stores in Wisconsin, Illinois, Colorado and Pennsylvania if the deal is approved by a bankruptcy court.
