Bellin Health System has named a new President and CEO to fill the shoes of retiring George Kerwin.

The company announced Tuesday that the Board of Directors chose Chris Woleske as Bellin's new leader.

Woleske was promoted to President/CEO after serving as Bellin's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Woleske has been with Bellin since 1998. She's the force behind Cardiology Associates, Gastroenterology Associates and NEW ENT. She also led Bellin's expansion to Oconto and Marinette.

She starts her new role on Oct. 1, 2018.

"So when I knew this was going to happen, I was extremely excited," Woleske says. "I feel very blessed to have this great team working with me here at Bellin and supporting me and the well wishes have been pouring in, so I know that I have a great team around me to support the organization through this transition."

George Kerwin leaves Bellin after working his way through the system. He joined Bellin in 1971, starting his career as the director of housekeeping and admissions.

He became CEO of the company in 1992.

“It will be difficult to leave this healthcare system after being part of such a tremendous period of growth,” Kerwin said. “But I leave knowing that Bellin Health is in good hands with Chris in the lead role and a strong leadership team that’s in place.”
