Appleton shelter taking in dogs from hurricane zone in Houston

APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - The Fox Valley Humane Association is taking in pets from hurricane-ravaged Houston.

A flight with 58 dogs from the Houston Humane Society is set to arrive at Appleton International Airport on Monday, Sept. 18.

The organization has been mobilizing its resources to take in dogs that have been surrendered by owners and have been in the Houston shelter for an extended period of time.

FVHA says the dogs will be given health checks and be placed up for adoption.

The agency is also looking for foster home volunteers.
