Appleton man sentenced to two years in prison for child porn

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - An Appleton man has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for possession of child pornography.

On May 10, Seth M. Rector appeared before a federal judge in Green Bay for a sentencing hearing.

Chief Judge William C. Griesbach ordered Rector to spend two years in prison and eight years on supervised release.

Rector had pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

Court documents say the 37-year-old used the file sharing website BitTorrent to get images of child pornography.

On Sept. 26, 2017, investigators executed a search warrant at Rector's home. They seized two computers and found 573 images of child pornography and sharing software.

Upon release, Rector will have to register as a sex offender.
