DENMARK, Wis. (WBAY) - UPDATE: The Brown County Sheriff's Office says a man arrested during an active situation in Denmark could be facing charges related to an OWI.
Just before 2:00 p.m., authorities responded to a vehicle crash to check on the welfare of the driver, which led to what police called an 'active situation.'
For about 2.5 hours, the intersection at Wisconsin Ave and County Highway R was shut down.
Eventually the male driver was taken into custody and is being treated for injuries he suffered in the crash.
The Brown County Sheriff's Office says he is facing multiple charges, which could be related to an OWI.
The investigation is ongoing. Authorities do not plan to release any more information Saturday.
UPDATE: The Brown County Sheriff tweeted out they responded to a vehicle crash in Denmark to check on the driver inside.
The driver was eventually taken into custody and is being treated for injuries while facing multiple charges.
They also ensured there is no danger to the public.
UPDATE: The active situation in Denmark has been resolved. The intersection is open and people are able to go in the area.
Police were involved for two and a half hours.

A call came into the Brown County Sheriff's Department a little before 2pm about an active situation in Denmark.
They are asking people to avoid the intersection of Wisconsin Ave and County Highway R.
