Access to cruises highlighted at Green Bay symposium

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) -- Green Bay held its 20th annual Green Bay Symposium on Wednesday, to discuss the future of the city's transportation industry.

Local leaders say the port is one of Green Bay's best assets and something they should utilize more.

Action 2 News has previously reported on plans to bring cruise ships back to the area.

Victory Cruise Lines has shown interest in having cruise visits in Wisconsin; and they say Green Bay is a perfect place to port.

"Green Bay is a well known entity. Its got a brand and it's also symptomatic to the Midwestern lifestyle. And to get you travel through some of the prettiest waters," said Bruce Nierenberg, Chairman of Victory Cruise Lines.

Victory Cruise Lines hopes to include Wisconsin in its schedule for the 2019-2020 year.
