GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay Area Public School District received a $5,000 grant to equip school crossing guards around the district.

The grant from AAA motor club will provide seven schools with new crosswalk signs and equip crossing guards with stop-sign paddles, traffic safety vests, whistles, hats and gloves.

The grant follows an agreement between the school district and the City of Green Bay allowing the school district to train staff members to perform crossing guard duties near schools where crossing guard is assigned.

AAA will present the check to the district Wednesday at Lincoln Elementary School.
