Brown County 911 outage repaired

BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) UPDATE 5/11 p.m.:

A 911 outage impacting about 100 people in Brown County has been resolved.

The outage impacted CenturyLink customers in the Luxemburg area. There was an issue with dial tones and people being able to call 911.

Brown County Dispatch says that problem has been repaired and all residents are able to call 911.

From Brown County Sheriff's Office at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday:

Century Link is experiencing a network event which is causing an issue with local dial tones and the inability to call out to 911.

Areas affected are Luxemburg, Denmark, and Wayside.

If you need to call 911 please use a cellular device.

If you have any neighbors that may not have a cellular device please attempt to notify or check on them if needed.

Reason of outage is unknown at this time and unknown estimated time of fix, a tech is dispatched to investigate.
