An eight-year-old cancer survivor from Neenah threw the first pitch at Tuesday's Timber Rattlers home game for Strike Out Cancer Day.
On April 28, 2016 Ceci Anschutz was close to completing the first grade when she complained of a pain in her side to her parents.
Shortly after, Ceci and her family learned she had a malignant tumor, about the size of a pineapple, growing on her left kidney.
The Anschutzs' lives were soon tied to the hospital and Ceci's mother Alissa, quit her job to be at Ceci's side full time.
Ceci has since had surgery to remove the tumor, rounds of radiation treatments and chemotherapy.
Ceci is now in remission and if no further cancer is found over the next five years, she will be considered cancer free.
The event started Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. during a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers home game at Neuroscience Group Field.
The goal of the event is to help children with cancer forget about their disease with a free day at the ballpark with their families.
