Bo is from Monticello, Illinois, a small town about 20 miles away from the University of Illinois. Like a meteorologist cliche, Bo became interested in meteorology as a young child after watching the 1996 classic movie, “Twister."
Bo graduated from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana, with a meteorology major and mathematics minor. Originally wanting to work in the National Weather Service, Bo got involved in broadcasting at the recommendation of his peers. He got his start in Joplin, Missouri, in 2019 as a weekend meteorologist. By September 2021, Bo moved to Duluth, Minnesota, to continue his career as a weekend meteorologist.
Despite having an introverted personality, Bo won’t shy away from adventure. One of his fondest memories is storm chasing across the Midwest in the summer of 2018 with his colleagues. He chased his first tornado next to a rare land spout from the same storm. He nearly got struck by lightning when a bolt hit in front of his car. He even got to visit Wakita, Oklahoma, where part of “Twister” was filmed. He also loves attending concerts. Linkin Park and Breaking Benjamin are his favorite bands.
