NEW LONDON, Wis. (WBAY) - A missing New London child and his father have been found safe in Florida. The child will soon return home to his mother in Wisconsin.

Wednesday morning around 5:00 a.m. 45-year-old Jason Moore and 12-year-old Chason Moore were found in St. Petersburg, Florida. In an update from New London Police, authorities said Jason Moore approached an officer in St. Petersburg looking for directions to his daughter’s house.

The St. Petersburg Officer ran the vehicle and Chason’s name through NCIC and saw New London PD was looking for them. St. Petersburg Police took custody of Chason and Chason was reunited with his adult sister who resides in St. Petersburg. Chason is safe and unharmed and will be returning to Wisconsin soon with his mother.

At this time there has been no arrest in this case. The New London Police Department will continue to work with the Waupaca County DA’s Office on this case. The New London Police Department would like to thank the Appleton Police Department, WI Department of justice, St. Petersburg Police Department and the Waupaca County DA’s Office for their assistance on this case.
