Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post were dispatched to US-2 near Fishdam River in Garden Township at 3:55 p.m. on Friday.
A white Toyota SUV and a black Chevrolet SUV were headed eastbound on US-2. A semi-truck was heading westbound when the semi driver, from Canada, lost control and drifted towards the side of the road. After this crash, the trailer portion of the semi was still in the road. The Chevrolet SUV hit the end of the trailer. The driver was a 54-year-old man from Oshkosh, WI. He was pinned inside the vehicle and broke several bones.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
After this crash, two more vehicles collided in an attempt to stop. No injuries were reported in the second crash.
