Snow showers from last night tapered off early this morning. With temperatures starting off around or even below freezing, watch for a few slick spots on roads early on today. Otherwise, lake-effect clouds will stick around for eastern counties through the afternoon. Areas west of the Fox Valley, however, will remain mostly sunny. Temperatures this afternoon will top out in the middle 40s regionwide. By this evening, clouds will begin to depart the area leaving us mainly clear overnight.

Sunday will start off very sunny! Temperatures will be seasonable in the lower 50s, except lakeside where southeast winds will keep temperatures in the 40s. It will be nice and dry during the daytime, so overall it is a nice day for outdoor plans. Overnight, and into Monday morning, scattered showers will move into the area.

Next week looks milder, mainly in the middle and upper 50s, but also unsettled again. We’ll have more rounds of showers and even some thunderstorms. Severe weather does NOT seem likely at this time, but we’ll keep an eye on how things develop. There certainly will be the potential for some good rains again (1″+).
