YMCA of the Fox Cities signs on with YMCA 360
APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - Pandemic restrictions may have been lifted, but not everyone is ready to get all things back the way they used to be. When it comes to health and fitness, some local YMCAs are now offering new programming that can be done anywhere, anytime.
In-person classes are taking place at the YMCA in downtown Appleton, and people are back to working out in person. But those settings may not be comfortable or convenient for everyone which is why the YMCA of the Fox Cities has signed onto YMCA 360.
“There’s over 500 different programs that you can click through and find what might fit you. Everything from fitness, cooking, I even found some on math today. We’ve got a little bit of everything, so it’s a really nice sampling of what we offer in our buildings,” says Kristina Schultz.
The online, on demand program allows people to tailor their health and fitness journey to their lifestyle. “I’m so impressed with how much variety there is. There’s truly something for everyone, all age and skill level,” says Schultz.
YMCA 360 videos, that run anywhere from seven to thirty minutes, are literally only a click away. The flexibility of the program gives people access to its resources 24-7, so you’re not tied down to Y hours. According to Patti Lynn, “You can take the Y with you anywhere. If you’re going on vacation, if you’re going on a work trip, if you’re staying home, you’re coming in the building - you can even do it here in the building if you want, you really can just take it anywhere.”
Throughout the month of the June, YMCA 360 is free for anyone who wants to give it a try, after that it will be restricted to y members only. Kristina Schultz says, “If we can offer it free, for a chunk of time and get people to learn more about us, we know that they’re going to want to be a part of it as well.”
