MANITOWOC, Wis. (WBAY) - Manitowoc police are asking for help to identify the people who are stealing from mailboxes.

The police department says there were multiple thefts early in the morning on Friday, December 18, around the 1400-block of Hubbard Circle and 1300-block of Kellner St.

A viewer submitted a video to Action 2 News -- a screenshot of which was shared by the Manitowoc Police Department on Facebook -- that shows a car driving past a mailbox then coming back, in reverse. The car parks in front of the mailbox on the right side of the screen and a passenger gets out of the car as the video ends.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $500 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

If you have information that could help investigators, call Manitowoc Crime Stoppers at (920) 683-4466 or use the P3 app available for Apple or Android devices. You can remain anonymous.

If you were a victim of a mailbox theft, call the Manitowoc Police Department at (920) 686-6500.

Police are asking you to watch out for suspicious behavior in your neighborhood and call the police department; let officers decide if it was innocent or criminal.
