Suspect arrested for two Subway robberies

Green Bay -

Green Bay police say they're holding a 20-year-old drug addict for robberies at two area Subway restaurants in May and June.

Police say Alexander Sundling was identified as a person of interest, and his DNA was matched to a ski mask police recovered after the first robbery.

The Subway at East Mason Street and Huron Road was robbed the night of May 25 by a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a ski mask. He ran from the store. Police following the trail found the ski mask.

Two weeks later, a Subway at East Mason and Roosevelt streets was robbed in a similar manner.

Detectives identified Sundling as a person of interest in both robberies.

Police say he admitted he has an opiate addiction.

Sundling is charged with two counts of robbery by threat of force. He was scheduled to make his first court appearance on the charges Thursday.
