Driver Under Investigation for Crash in Marinette County

Marinette County -

Three people were injured in a crash involving a car and two semi trucks in Marinette County, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened about 2:40 a.m. Thursday on Highway 141 in the Town of Amberg.

Investigators say a car driving north on the highway crossed the center line and hit a southbound semi truck's fuel tank and trailer.  The impact caused the semi to overturn and block the roadway.  A northbound semi was not able to stop in time and drove into the overturned semi.

The driver of the car, 26-year-old Andrew Kunna of Menasha, suffered serious injuries.  The Sheriff's Office says he is under investigation for operating while intoxicated.

The drivers of the semi trucks were treated for non-life threatening injuries.  They were identified as Brian Scott Herrala, 48, Iron Mountain, Michigan, and Peter W. Johnson, 48, Manitowoc.

Traffic was detoured for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.  Officials say there were no hazardous materials involved.
