Mark Murphy: More time must pass to retire Brett Favre's number
It appears it'll be a little while longer before the Green Bay Packers retire #4.
Packers president/CEO Mark Murphy told Jason Wilde of Cover 2 and ESPN Milwaukee that he doesn't anticipate retiring Brett Favre's jersey number this season.
One issue: Murphy acknowledged that Favre is worried about being booed.
"That is an issue. He doesn't want it, and neither do we. He wouldn't want to come back and get booed. You can't control 80,750 people," Murphy said. "But, I really think as time goes on, every year that passes, it's less likely that he would get booed. But that is an issue."
