Restaurant Week Begins Thursday - WBAY

Restaurant Week Begins Thursday

Green Bay - Beginning Thursday, 58 area restaurants will be serving special menus at special prices. It's the second annual Green Bay Restaurant Week.

Restaurants participating in Restaurant Week feature special Restaurant Week menus with customer favorites and new items.

"If you want to try a new place, if there's something you've heard about and you just haven't gotten there yet, this is a great time to do that," said Brenda Kranaik, Restaurant Week organizer.

Angelina Authentic Italian Cuisine didn't participate in Restaurant Week last year, but after seeing how successful the week was, decided to open their doors to Restaurant Week diners this year.

"We figured that it might bring in some new customers for us and, also, because we have a few different things we wanted to advertise," said Valentina Nikolaides, Angelina Authentic Italian Cuisine Manager.

Last year organizers said they were expecting about 3,000 people to dine, but the week was successful and about 18,000 turned out. They said diners aren't only coming from the Green Bay area, but many people travel from Milwaukee and Chicago when on their way to vacation in Door County.

Diners choose between a $10 lunch and a $10, $20, or $30 dinner. Not all restaurants feature menus at every price-point.

The idea is to show off some of the great options Green Bay has to offer.

"Fine dining, you can't find that any place else for $30 for an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert," Kranaik said.

Organizers said to make sure you're making reservations because restaurants Action 2 News spoke to said they're getting many more reservations and it's going to be a busy week.
