Plenty to do in Northeast Wisconsin

Green Bay -
Temperatures in Northeast Wisconsin have finally warmed up.

"After this type of winter that we had, it's nice to be out and have some family fun," said Fred Karstedt, Cecil resident having fun with his family at Bay Beach Amusement Park.

And that weather is keeping people a little closer to home.

"The weather's perfect in Northeast Wisconsin this weekend, so we thought we'd stick around here and take advantage of it," said Michelle Neuens of De Pere, also at Bay Beach Amusement Park.

Those deciding to stay in the area for the holiday weekend made their way to local attractions. There were long lines Sunday at Bay Beach Amusement Park as people waited to get on their favorite ride.

The Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau said there's more to see locally than Bay Beach.

"We've got a lot of great museums, the zoo the botanical garden, the new adventure park," said Brad Toll, President and CEO of the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Brown County is number five on the list of counties who bring in the most tourism dollars in Wisconsin. The  most popular month is October. The visitors bureau said while holiday weekends aren't too popular with tourists, it's still busy in Northeast Wisconsin.

"For our attractions, especially with beautiful weather like this they're very very busy weekends."
