Some say being an early riser is the key to a happier life.
That's why we're offering tips and advice to help you become an Action 2 News This Morning person.
For some, being a good parent is the key to happiness. Kathryn Bracho got some tips from family experts.
The Early Years Coalition says one big tip is to listen to your kids--really listen to them and get down on their level. We're so busy, and sometimes it's hard to make time to do that, but they say that will help your kids become better listeners.
COUNT TO 10
The coalition says when you get frustrated, don't explode with anger. Try to count to 10. It will help your kids understand good behavior when they see it from you. You won't be so angry if you take the time to do that.
NO EMPTY THREATS
Don't make empty threats. If you get frustrated with your kid and you need to punish them in some way, make a threat that you're actually going to follow through on.
MAKE TIME FOR YOUR KIDS
The Family Education Network says you can spend extra time with your kids by having them help with chores. Have your kids help you with the stuff you need to do, like cleaning up the stuffed animals or cleaning up that playroom at the end of the night.
MAKE A FAMILY CALENDAR
They say another thing to do is to make a family calendar that has everyone's events and activities. You can use a different color for each family member. That way everyone can check in and know what the others are doing.
TURN OFF THE PHONE/COMPUTER
The Family Education Network says turn off that work phone or computer and just focus on the family for the rest of the night. That'll help you compartmentalize your day, and be a better parent once work goes out of the picture.
