Study: Owning TV, Computer Could Affect Your Weight

Updated:

New research shows owning a car, TV, or computer could affect your weight.

Researchers looked at low income countries where it's a relatively new thing for most people to have cars, TVs, or computers.

They found people who owned all three had a 31 percent decrease in physical activity from people who didn't own those items.

The car, TV and computer owners also had a higher rate of diabetes and obesity than people who didn't own them.

Scientists say this research partially explains why the rate of obesity in low income countries is starting to approach that of higher income countries like the U.S.

New research shows teens may be more stressed than we realize -- especially during the school year.

In a new nationwide survey from the American Psychological Association, 27 percent of teens said they experience extreme stress when school is in session.

Only 13 percent said they were extremely stressed during summer.

Researchers say this shows that summer can be vital to teen's mental health.
