Super Bowl Commercial Filmed Locally

Updated:

Even though the Packers aren't playing in this Sunday's Super Bowl, more than 100 million viewers will still catch a unique glimpse of Titletown.

Coca-Cola is debuting a 60-second commercial filmed last month in Ashwaubenon and at Lambeau Field.

Known for its iconic commercials, Coca-Cola's latest is titled, "Going All The Way", a story of a young football player who becomes an unlikely hero.

Filmed over four days in early December, the commercial features nearly all local talent, something Coca-Cola has never done before.

"Everyone in the spot is from Green Bay except for Adrian who is the little football star, he's a professional actor, but everyone else is a local, even down to our field manager Allen Johnson who co-stars in the spot," says Lisa Nortman, the Packers Partnerships Services Coordinator.

Scenes in the commercial include the Ashwaubenon High School practice field, neighborhoods in the village, and of course, Lambeau Field.

"Out of all the themes they could pick, the fact that they picked the Packers and Green Bay to really tell the story of our fans and the tradition was a huge honor," says Nortman.

Most of the football players in the commercial are Ashwaubenon 8th graders, and the fans in the stands, their parents.

Coca-Cola held a private premier for the spot last night at Lambeau Field, and those attending say they were blown away by their soon-to-be 60 seconds of fame.

"I don't know if it really hits home until you see it on the screen and you realize it's going to be a Super Bowl airing, so I think it's hitting them now and obviously the crowd last night just went nuts when they saw," says Brad Taylor, Information Coordinator for the Ashwaubenon School District.

The commercial is slated to air during the second half of the Super Bowl.
