Last Minute Shoppers Hit the Stores on Christmas Eve

Updated:

If you didn't know it was Christmas Eve, head to any area mall or grocery store.

With all of the last-minute holiday shoppers, it's easy to tell.

"A lot of deli party trays, last minute Christmas candy for stocking stuffing, a little wine and spirits, last minute meat items, getting things fresh," says Josh Verstegan, Assistant Manager at Festival Foods on Mason Street in Green Bay.

Tuesday at Festival Foods on West Mason in Green Bay, there were lines of people picking up the finishing touches for their Christmas feasts.

"I have fruit baskets for my neighbors, I have buns, I have cheese for our cheese and sausage tray" says Sandy Faltynski, a grocery shopper.

It was a similar story at Bay Park Square Mall, where the race was on to find the perfect gift for everyone on their list.

"Looking for a gift for my boyfriend's mom" says Crystal Fisher.

"Well I haven't gotten anything for my dad so that's what I'm trying to find today... he's really into tools and stuff, I know you cant find that much here but I'm trying to find him some snow gear he's looking for snow pants or something," says Maria Corona, a shopper.

Both Bay Park Square Mall and Festival Foods plan on closing Christmas Day so employees can celebrate the holiday but they'll be back open on the 26th, which is sure to be another busy day of shopping.
