Donald Driver will be the featured guest at the 2013 U.S. Venture Open charity golf event in Northeast Wisconsin.
Organizers of they chose the recently retired Packer and Dancing with the Stars champ because of his charitable work and commitment to helping people.
"The
work the U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs aims to do with at-risk kids and
families struggling in poverty is obviously something very close to my heart,
and similar to causes I support with my own foundation," Driver said. "I'm
excited to partner with them and help continue their tradition of doing good
right here in Northeast Wisconsin."
Proceeds go to the U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs. The golf outing has raised nearly $2 million for the fund.
The 28th annual event is being held Wednesday, August 14 at the following golf courses: Oneida Golf
and Country Club, Green Bay; North Shore Golf Club, Menasha; Mid Vallee Golf
Course, DePere; Fox Valley Golf Club, Kaukauna; Wander Springs,
Greenleaf.
