Coleman -

To the tune of Carly Rae Jepsen's pop hit "Call Me Maybe," the students and staff in the Coleman School District created a parody titled "For Educating!"

Please come and save me.

for educating!

The YouTube video showcased the result of the school district's small technology budget -- outdated projectors, typewriters, and TVs.

Late last year, Coleman entered Sharp's Centennial School Contest, hoping to win $100,000 to buy new equipment.

Out of nearly 600 applications from schools all over the country, Coleman's music video stood out.

The children are our concern
Engaged and ready to learn.
More tech brings a return
The budget's in our way.

Friday, Sharp representatives traveled from New Jersey to the small Marinette County community to let the students and staff know just much they liked it.

"That's the one that captured our hearts," said Sharp President Doug Albregts, "so congratulations to you!"

"It's amazing," high school senior Mason Mergener reacted. "$100,000 is a lot of money. It's going to be a big thing."

Educators always workin'
Budget cuts are always lurkin'
Lack of tech is so disturbin'
Can't meet the needs of all our children.

"We have great kids here, and we're going to able to give them opportunity that other schools that are bigger and have those possibilities," said Coleman High School Principal Kelly Casper. "It's just going to be a neat thing for our students here at Coleman."

School officials will meet soon to decide what items to order.  The superintendent believes some products will arrive before the school year is over.
